Job Summary: Responsible for the day-to-day operations of the lodging department while working directly with the Lodging Manager and other lodging staff. The Assistant Manager will be responsible for overseeing and leading the housekeeping department and ensuring the highest level of guest satisfaction. This position is accountable for enforcing all park policies and procedures while maintaining guest satisfaction and profitability of the company.
Reports to: Lodging Manager
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Monitor the operations of the housekeeping department daily, including the cleanliness of all cabins, RV sites, and public areas
- Communicate with housekeeping staff regarding cabins to be cleaned and inspect all cabins and public areas to ensure they meet cleanliness standards
- Report cabin statuses to front desk/General Store
- Handle, follow up, and resolve guest concerns/requests regarding services
- Inspect cabins/RV sites for maintenance or repairs
- Help and assist with reservations and check-ins at the General Store when needed
- Assist in hiring, training, and retention of staff
- Develop weekly schedules and ensure staffing levels and lead coverage is appropriate to meet the needs of the business and maximize the customer experience
- Monitor and report all safety concerns to Lodging Manager
- Assist Lodging Manager with inventories & supplies to ensure consistent levels
- Foster and maintain strong, positive relationships with team members across all departments through communication and consistent face-to-face interaction
- All other duties as assigned by Lodging Manager or Director of Lodging
Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience in the amusement park/entertainment/hospitality industry preferred
- Prior supervisory experience in a hospitality setting preferred
- Applicants should be an excellent leader, detail-oriented, and demonstrate a commitment to cleanliness and customer service
- ·Willing to learn and adapt to changes or challenges that a fast-paced industry may experience
- Eagerness to jump in and help in all areas of the business when needed
- Must demonstrate outgoing personality and professional appearance
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Must be able to work weekends and outside of normal business hours
- Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds; stand; walk/pace; use hands to handle equipment or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
